The internet, unfortunately, is great at propagating misinformation. There are few areas of knowledge where the misinformation propagation is stronger than in Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
There are thousands of writers blogging about SEO who have never actually ranked a website. They regurgitate the same things that authority figures in SEO are saying.
There are many different ways to successfully approach SEO. As a result, the conflicting ideas you hear about SEO can be very confusing even if they are correct.
Additionally, there are many articles written about techniques that, while technically true, are not really an accurate representation of actions that result in a successful SEO project. It is correct that I could crawl from Dallas to New York City, but is that something that should be recommended? Obviously not. You get a lot of this minutia with the automated website graders out there.
Further confusing people, different businesses can have wildly different optimal SEO plans.
SEO is something that didn't exist 20 years ago. Yet, it is extremely complicated and nuanced. Expecting to understand it quickly is not reasonable.
However, with this book, you can bust through the major myths and half-truths spread around about SEO. Read it and be more prepared to have a successful SEO project.

SEO Myths and HalfTruths Slice through the Veil of Misinformation to Uncover the Secrets to SEO Profits eBook David Hood Reviews
This book truly uncovers and sheds light on much of the "hear-say" that goes on in this fledgling industry. As a professional SEO myself, I'm constantly looking for the rare gems of good information out there to stay ahead of the pack...this is definitely one of them. Highly recommended!
Forget all these other books on SEO from so called "Experts" They are mostly CRAP! The truth of the matter is that the guidelines that MOZ and Google set seldom have to do with what actually works to get rankings. Hood is one of those few SEO's that actually makes money (Mid 5 figures a month) and I can attest to that. Do not take this guide lightly, he is the real deal.
David knows his stuff. I have known David since 2011 and he is very professional and knowledgeable. This book is a great read and explains the strategies that all businesses should be using as the core foundation of their SEO strategy. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to further their knowledge in the SEO field.
David has a vast knowledge and understanding of SEO. There are a lot of products or "gurus" out there that put on a show but beind the scenes don't know jack about SEO. In this book, David uncovers principles, tactics and results from properly optimizing a site. If you are looking for a loaded comprehensive guide to SEO and you don't want to have to piece it together yourself over years of studying SEO concepts, buy this book.
Finally! An up-to-date search engine optimization book that delivers what it promises. There are so many misconceptions around SEO that have been perpetuated over the years that it's nice to finally have them all cleared. If you're looking for a book on search marketing that cuts through all the bulls*** and just delivers pure value, then this is the book for you. Highly recommend!
This is one book that every business owner with a website needs to read. There are so many misconceptions about search engine optimization (SEO) that the wrong information is becoming accepted fact while the truth is becoming harder to find. David Hood has brilliantly laid out the truth of what SEO is and what it is not in his new book. It is easy to read and understand, making it an invaluable resource to those who think they know about SEO and those who can barely spell it. This book can also be especially useful to skilled SEOs to help explain the benefits of their services and to dispel the many myths and half-truths that make it difficult to attract new clients and build a mutually beneficial and understanding relationship.
David Hood's book "SEO Myths and Half Truths" contains great insights from an experienced SEO (Search Engine Optimization consultant). After setting the stage discussing his experience, he dives in to talking to the business owner, detailing SEO myths and if this type of marketing is right for your business. After this introduction, Hood goes into detail talking about some core search engine optimization principles.
This is done to allow the reader to become more conversant with a prospective SEO contractor (if they wish to hire one), in
addition to providing solid information for those wanting to understand this ever-changing subject better. There is a great section on hiring an SEO consultant, containing good tips and terms that the business owner can use when scouting for such a professional.
Hood has a great section underscoring the need for proper planning and execution in keyword planning in-depth market research, and deploying it into proper site-structure are key action points that help a site owner to reap big results. Hood then goes into SEO metrics and setting up a good SEO plan.
Chapter 11 How To Know if SEO is Working begins to round out the information, and focuses the reader on next steps. Hood discusses the idea that increasing traffic is the real goal and purpose of SEO. Knowing that there will be up and down months gives the reader a heads-up to expect that this is a process, and an expert practitioner of SEO will harness this process correctly to achieve good and higher site rankings.
Hood goes on to talk about SEO in the long term, mobile SEO, and has a great chapter on Engagement.
All in all, this is a great and useful book on SEO written for the prospective buyer of SEO services. The reader will learn tips, techniques, terms and learn to spot what a sound and trusted SEO process will look like. Highly recommended.
